Cop Killer To Receive Human Rights Award

[CP] An Ontario man serving a life sentence for killing a policeman is to be honoured for years of efforts to educate prison inmates about how to lower their risk of becoming infected with HIV.

The Canadian HIV-AIDS Legal Network and Human Rights Watch is to announce Monday that they are giving their 2008 Canadian Award for Action on HIV/AIDS and Human Rights to Peter Collins, the groups have revealed.

The money being offered to some of the victims is our own money. Any profit from our lands held in trust is “blood money”. We want an economy. Stop depriving us and forcing us out of our communities. Release all our trust funds immediately. Everything that was “kicked back” to the Vatican must be returned to us. These churches that committed these atrocities have investments from our lands worth billions and have combined stock portfolios in the billion if not trillions. Release these to us.

Better Off Worrying About Magazine Articles

While fearless Canadian human rights crusaders take magazines to hearings for printing articles, their country winds up on a list of destinations for sex slaves.

[New Vision]  CHILDREN from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda and Burundi are reportedly trafficked into Uganda for sexual exploitation, commercial and agricultural labour, according to a United States report.

The report is titled ‘2008 Trafficking in Persons’ and was issued ON June 11. 

Uganda, it said, is a destination of forced labour workers from Pakistan, India and China. 

Ugandan children, the report states, are trafficked within or taken to Canada, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia for sexual slavery.

New Zealand Runs Off To Join The Circus

[Scoop] New Zealand’s bid for election to the United Nations Human Rights Council took another step forward today with the launch of a campaign website, Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters said.

New Zealand is standing for election next year to the 47-seat Council for the term 2009-2012, and is the first country from the Pacific region to stand.
