[Peter McKnight, Vancouver Sun] Still, though, a few brave souls have come to the defence of the tribunal, arguing that some restrictions on free speech are justifiable and that the tribunal, by holding a hearing, was simply fulfilling its statutory duties under the Code.
So who is right here? Is the tribunal guilty of the charges levelled by the media? The answer, it seems, is yes and no — no, the tribunal is not responsible for the statutory regime which prohibits “discriminatory publications,” a regime which is itself troubling. And yes, some past tribunals, at least, are guilty of misinterpreting that law.
The rest.

Excellent and appropriate headline/comment on THE VANCOUVER SUN. Unfortunately, the same comment can be made of Canadians overall. My question: Will Canadians ever find their balls, or have they already been castrated? Behaviorally speaking, Canadians are either castrati or have the very smallest misplaced balls in the history of the known universe. Maybe Canada’s lower-than-the-USA’s birthrate is a manifestaion of Darwin’s theory of “survival of the fittest.” Canadians THINK they are better than Americans, but their dwindling numbers will make that sentiment cold comfort indeed over the longer term.
Canadians FIRST need to get over themselves and their smug sense of superiority, realize they’ve misplaced their balls, and locate same before they are removed and incinerated.
Most national populations could handle that because they have a shared sense of identity. Canadians don’t, so they can’t. But they’ll die claiming their moral superiority to Americans.
Funny, really. Just an observation…
