Human Rights Is Big Bucks

WINNIPEG – Fundraising efforts for the Canadian Museum for Human Rights received three shots in the arm from Alberta on Wednesday.

Gail Asper, the head fundraiser for the museum being planned for Winnipeg, accepted a $1-million gift from the Edmonton offices of the Qualico Group of Companies. Qualico is a property developer.

At the same time, she said $500,000 had been donated by The Dianne and Irving Kipnes Foundation of Edmonton and that another $500,000 had been pledged by an anonymous donor – who had previously written a cheque for $1 million – if other Albertans can match it.

The rest.
